Reduce Energy Consumption
Air source heat pumps can significantly reduce your energy use and when used in conjunction with heat pump energy tariffs can reduce your energy bills
Take control of your energy and transform your home with air source heat pumps. Save money, reduce your carbon footprint, and enjoy efficient, sustainable heating and hot water.
Product overview
Leverage heat pump technology to enjoy sustainable and luxurious heating. Heat pumps provide an efficient and reliable solution ideal for residential properties. Our systems deliver huge energy savings and provides some protection from fossil fuel price inflation.
Superior Efficiency
By capturing and upgrading heat, our heat pumps can achieve efficiencies well in excess of 300%, keeping your property comfortably warm even during winter. With advanced technology designed to maximise performance, our heat pumps deliver reliable heating and hot water all year-round. At McConnells Green, we tailor each installation to meet your specific needs, ensuring optimal comfort and efficiency.
Air source heat pumps can significantly reduce your energy use and when used in conjunction with heat pump energy tariffs can reduce your energy bills
Take advantage of both zero VAT and the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) and receive more than £7500 off your installation costs.
Our heat pumps provide ‘weather compensated heating’, this feature ensures your home heats steadily rather than overheating akin to fossil boilers. This makes for a more evenly heated, comfortable home.
Installing a heat pump can improve your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)rating and potentially increase your property value and making it more attractive to buyers.
Heat pumps provide efficient heating in winter but also have the capability to provide cooling in summer, ensuring a comfortable home environment throughout the year.
Enjoy peace of mind with long-term warranties that ensure your heat pump system performs reliably for many years.
Reduce your reliance on fossil fuels and take control of your energy usage, protecting yourself from fluctuating energy prices.
By using renewable energy from the air, heat pumps significantly reduce your carbon footprint, save energy and the planet!
Heat pumps require minimal maintenance, making them a hassle-free and efficient solution for your heating and cooling needs.
Our high quality heat pumps are extremely quiet
Boiler Update Scheme
The government not only allows heat pump installations to be completed at zero VAT, but £7500 is also available to home owners as part of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS). This initiative is aimed at encouraging the adoption of low-carbon heating systems. Under the BUS, homeowners reduce the cost of their heat pump installation by £7500. This scheme is designed to make transitioning to renewable heating more affordable, reducing both your carbon footprint and your energy usage. The BUS is also open to new self build projects.
McConnells will handle all aspects of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, so contact us to discuss your requirements.

Yes, modern heat pumps, including air source heat pumps, are designed to function efficiently even at temperatures as low as -20°C. They remain a reliable heating solution year-round, as evidenced by their popularity in colder regions like Scandinavia.
Modern heat pumps are generally quiet, operating at around 40-60 decibels, similar to a normal conversation. Proper installation ensures minimal noise disturbance to you and your neighbours.
No, heat pumps can work efficiently with radiators. Running the heat pump at a lower flow temperature improves efficiency. McConnells will assess your radiator system for compatibility and suggest any necessary adjustments before installation.
R290 heat pumps can heat radiators to the same temperature as boilers. Typically, we configure “weather compensation” to enhance efficiency and comfort, resulting in varying radiator temperatures subject to the outdoor temperature.
While not always required, we usually recommend replacing your existing hot water cylinder with one that suits heat pump flow temperatures and efficiencies to maximise hot water recovery time and system efficiency.
Heat pumps are significantly more efficient than modern A+++ rated gas and oil boilers, with a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of 3 to 4 (300-400% efficiency), compared to about 90% efficiency for gas and oil boilers.
Yes, many modern heat pumps offer both heating and cooling functions, providing year-round temperature control for your home. This makes them a versatile and efficient solution for maintaining a comfortable indoor environment.
The installation time for a heat pump system can vary depending on the complexity of the installation and the specific requirements of your property. However, for a typical domestic property, the process should take about 5 days.
It depends on your property and the heat pump specification. Typically, having a larger system water volume (with a buffer tank) can help the system run at maximum efficiency. A larger buffer can also be utilised as a thermal energy storage. Properties which have cheaper energy at certain times of day (usually overnight) can benefit from heating up the buffer even if there is no heating demand at that time.
System efficiency is calculated by dividing the heat output by the electricity used and multiplying by 100. For example, if the system generates 4kWh of heat and uses 1kWh of electricity, the efficiency is 400% (COP of 4). The high efficiency comes from the fact that the heat absorbed from outside is considered free and not included in the calculation.
Normal domestic properties with reasonable insulation levels will not normally require 3 phase electricity, properties larger than a 6-bed detached home are likely to require a three-phase electricity supply or a backup system to provide the extra energy when it is coldest outside.
Currently, air source heat pumps do not normally require planning permission, unless the property is listed or in a conservation area, you should be able to check this with your local planning department.
Our air source heat pumps need an annual inspection to maintain the warranty.
