As of 8th May 2024, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) have made key changes to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS). The changes include:
- Removing the requirement for loft and cavity wall insulation recommendations on the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
- Differentiating grant levels for off-grid and self-build properties.
- Adding eligibility for biomass boilers with integrated cooking functions.
- Increasing the shared ground loop threshold for ground source heat pumps from 45kW to 300kW.
- Revising the application eligibility based on commissioning dates.
