Commercial Solar Installation for Production Site – Nottingham.

Production sites typically have high electricity use, resulting in substantial energy costs. This presents an ideal scenario for a solar installation to mitigate these costs. Unlike domestic installations, commercial solar systems do not benefit from a generous export tariff, making it more important that the generated solar energy offsets regular energy usage

3D Modelling as standard

Accurate performance forecasts are vital when making large capital purchases of solar.  Our usual starting point is to build a 3D model, free of charge, for the customer.  This model includes shading from local trees, buildings and even the unique distant horizon line.
This model enables performance of the solar panels to be accurately simulated and is more detailed more accurate than a the normal standard assessment methodology.
For this customer we modelled their site, including trees and the requirement to accommodate existing rooflights

Energy Consumption Simulation

By utilising half-hourly meter history, McConnells can match historical usage with forecast energy generation to accurately predict how much solar energy would be used on-site and how much would be exported. This forecast ensures that shift patterns and holiday periods are accurately included in the return on investment (ROI) calculations.

We matched this customers 30 minute meter reading data to the minute by minute forecast output of the solar panels.  This simulation resulted in accurate forecasts for energy use on site and likely export to the grid.
